Effort to grant the wishes of local children. You are invited to walk and raise money for local children fighting against life-threatening medical conditions.

Special Olympics
Volunteer opportunities year-round for fundraising events or athletic events. Help to bring all people with intellectual disabilities into the larger society under conditions where they are respected, accepted and given the chance to have opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage,experience joy, and develop friendships with other Special Olympic athletes.

Polar Plunge
 
Help raise money for the athletes of Special Olympics New York by volunteering or participating. Friends, co-workers, family, etc. can support you in taking the plunge! Start a team, join a team, join individually, or volunteer.

Long Island Riding for the Handicapped Association
 
Volunteers assist physically, emotionally, and/or cognitively challenged individuals with free horseback riding lessons and physical therapy. Volunteers also help with Equestrian Ride-A-Thon and Walk-A-Thon. The program runs April through June and again September to middle of October.

Light The Night Walk

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) brings families and communities together to honor blood cancer survivors and those lost to the diseases. Help understand the importance of finding cures and providing access to treatments for blood cancer patients. Volunteers can be responsible for set up/breakdown, registration/check, assisting with material handouts at our campaign table, remembrance, food area, photography or kids tent or clean up.
